Say goodbye to gagging impressions!
Many patients are anxious about needles. Most often, the sensation that patients find unpleasant is the sting of local anesthetic entering your soft tissue. This computer-assisted machine helps Dr. Shah deliver virtually pain-free injections. The system controls the flow rate of the local anesthetic as it enters your body, creating a significantly more comfortable experience for both patients and doctors. While getting injections will never be anyone’s favorite thing to do, the Calaject has allowed Lumos Dental to provide patients with the most pleasant experience possible.
Logging patients information - also known as charting- can take a significant amount of time, particularly for dental hygienists. Your hygienist takes measurements of your gums at every appointment. Each measurement is recorded in order to track gum health and gum disease (periodontal disease). At Lumos Dental, we have invested in voice recognition software that makes the process of charting quick and seamless.
At your next hygiene appointment, your hygienist will put on a headset and be able to verbally chart while working in your mouth. You will be able to see the information being charted in real time on the wall-mounted screens that are placed in every room. Not only does this software save the hygienist time, it also saves you time in the chair and helps you visually engage in your treatment.
Digital x-rays provide improved comfort of mouth x-rays and less cranial exposure to radiation. With digital x-rays, patients can have around 70% less exposure to radiation than conventional x-rays. Digital x-rays also produce larger and clearer photos to better source hard-to-see cavities and the images can be easily stored on a computer and transferred to different dentists or orthodontists for referrals. Digital x-rays are also more environmentally friendly in the long run.
With panoramic x-rays, your dentist can easily look for problems such as bone abnormalities and fractures, cysts, impacted teeth, infections, and tumors. It’s a much faster and simpler process than traditional x-rays. Also, the panoramic technique requires fewer steps compared to traditional dental x-rays, creating a more convenient and comfortable procedure for the patient.
